Brown caterpillar looking thing. Any idea what it is?

What is this thing? It was on my glass so I pulled it out to make sure it’s reef safe. It looks like a brown spiked caterpillar with suckers on face.

Sea hares are a type of slug, sea cucumbers are more closely related to urchins or starfish.

Different critters and care requirements. Your cucumber may be a sand filter or a water column feeder. Hard to tell from the pics, but I would guess sand filter kind which are easier to keep.
