Brown everywhere :(

Any ideas what this is I cant get rid of it. Its not as bad when the lights come on but is everywhere by the end of the lighting cycle. Its almost like a dust I can blow it off really easy but it comes back with 15 min.:cry: Any help on how to get rid of this stuff would be great.
I tried to WB the pics so 2 pics 1 with and 1 without tryin to WB

Sounds kind of how cyano acts. Maybe it's some type of bacteria?

If it's brown and dusty it's usually diatoms. Is this a new tank? Or did you do any major changes to it?

I think it looks like the cyano I have had in the past as well.

cant tell the color from th pics but if its brown then its most likely diatoms.. if purple or something, then cyano.

Im thinking its a bac but really dont know. Ive dealt with all kinds of stuff thru the yrs and this is a 1st

I looked at it again it kind of stringy but small. Tank has been fully cycled since Oct 09 Maybe dino?? but its not slimey

I should add I have been using Vodka since the tank was setup and MB7. Stopped vodka 2 weeks ago started back yesterday

Looks like Cyano to me. Cyano is a blue/green bacteria and can be red, brown or purple.

If it's stringy and you just started vodka up again, it could be jumped back in with too big a dose and that would make it dino. I would get it whenever I dosed too much when I was finding my optimum dose for vodka dosing. If you cut back your dose and it is dino then it will disappear quickly in a day or two.

Ive been dealing with this over a month I thought the same so thats why I stopped dosing for 2 weeks and it didnt help. Corals started browning some so I started it back. IDK

What kind of skimmer are you running??? Dosing bacteria and vodka is very dangerous with out a good quality skimmer to remove the excess nutrients... What's the specs inthe tank???
