So for a month or more now I've been battling gha and this brown stringy stuff. I have the gha almost under control, but now I'm seeing more and more of this long stringy brown stuff that I think is algae. I did a few weeks of twice weekly water changes, started doing 1ml/10 gallon peroxide twice per day, and just shut off the lights for 2 days. It decreased it a lot, but it's still definitely present. What else should I do? Just replaced the lights in my biocube 29. Tests are all neg. use RODI water from at home spectrapure system. This isn't the best pic of it, I'll try to get a better one.

Hmm I doubt Dino algae would grow on rocks. It might be spaghetti worm or vermatid Snail slime but I'm not sure.

Try doing every other day 5% water changes for 2 weeks and see if that works. If not maybe get something that eats algae such as a tang or foxfacw and maybe a blenny.

I have the exact same issue at the minute. I have been picking it away each week during water changes but it is coming back each week. I just ordered some Vibrant to see if it will do the trick.
Reef Safe Vibrant Liquid Aquarium Cleaner this is the one.

Following a long. Let me know how the vibrant works. I have so much brown hair algae it's driving me nuts. Been keeping up with water changes too... i think it could be my lights but not sure ... clean up crew can't keep up lol

@Desmond Any luck with the vibrant? Has it reduced your hair algae? Any side effects on your coral, fish, etc??

Its getting better but still some there been a difference for sure though. I am only 1 dose in and will start dosing twice a week from monday. It will be 2 weeks on monday.before and after. No effect on fish. I have removed die off manually . I think after 5 or 6 doses i should start to see real results. Will keep you posted.
