Brown Hair Algae Triton Method

Ya want to avoid chem is possible.
Understand and agree sorry I missed that.
I see you have 0 RODI and assuming that is TDS PO4 and NO3 in your RODI will still have 0 TDS may be something to think about.
I didn’t see tangs listed on your stock list. Not sure they would clear it but with other CUC it should help.

Ya no tangs. Removed one as it was fighting with fox face. Any recommendations on type of tang?

Little experience but Tomini and yellow eye kole tang seem to be the less aggressive tangs. Can only keep one. My Tomini picks all day and rarely eat nori when he can pick at rocks

I had a hair algae problem right up until I added my 2 purple tangs, and a yellow, they wiped out the tank within a week or so... It was so fast, that I was worried my lawnmower blenny was going to starve... He had not learned to eat anything in the tank that wasn't algae. Thankfully he eventually figured out what the nori clips were. Lawnmower blennys are awesome too at it, but they are much slower then a team of Zebrasoma tangs in a larger system.

This is three weeks of growth

I had a similar problem. Keep scrubbing the rock if you can. I also went really old school and started good old fashioned chemipure. I also put in a tuxedo urchin and a long spine urchin. I agree with purple tangs are grazing beasts. I’ve always had one till over a year ago. Now I have a yellow and a desjarian.

I am currently running triton method in my Redsea 625 and everything is doing good. The only problem I have is GHA. I have tried everything for GHA and run low nutrients and feeding. However it still grows. GHA out competes Chaeto. I want to use vibrant. I have heard good things about the product. However, I will have to remove Chaeto prior to using Vibrant.
1. Will vibrant spike nutrients as refuge will be offline will I have to abandon the triton method.
2. Can I use vibrant on a short term basis to get rid of GHA and then go back to triton or will it all come back. All examples of vibrant I see are people dosing it over the long term.

Does anyone recommend algae scrub and then lights out in display tank for a few days? I have spa in the tank Acropora.
