Been noticing this stuff getting worse over the last 2 weeks. Done a 10g water change 2 days ago using aquaforest Reef salt. Salinity at 1.025, 79f, ammonia 0, nitrite 0, nitrate 0, calcium 400-420, phosphate undectable. It's a 29g tank with a 4x39w t5 with 3 blue+ and a actinic running 8hrs. Not sure what I'm dealing with as it looks like hair algae but is not even the slightest bit green as you can see. Picture taken with lights off to avoid color distortion from blue lights.

Whats your TDS from your RO/DI unit? With my tank, I feed the SAME amount more or less everyday when I start to notice small amounts of algae growth, I usually can attribute it to filters/RO membranes or DI media needing to be changed out.

My system has been up and running for almost 2 years now, so any algae is usually a result of me needing to do something or change something out.

When I done my last water change TDs was reading 003ppm

So next question is any suggestions for eradication? Running 2 HOB filters with activated carbon and just floss.
Snails and a toothbrush first.
Add bottled bacteria after wc.
Clean the hobs at water changes or at least once a month. If the hob is NOT full of funk after a month , repack it to capture some funk.

If that doesn’t work, then we’ll talk algaecodes.

What bottled bacteria do you recommend?

People typically recommend Vibrant, Waste Away, and Microbacter7. I’m currently using vibrant to attempt to treat Bryopsis before I go back to a dose of a Flucon.

Excellent. I have waste away using with the biopellets (in a couple of weeks so far) so we'll see if that does it...
