you want 12 hours of no light is what I read on that post along with no water change just turn on the lights. My interpretation could be wrong.

I kept my lights on. Cipro worked for me. Up to you if you want to turn them off.

Yes did water change after 6 days. Kept skimmer on just took off the cup

Roger that. So let it flow back in. That’s my issue then. I left skimmer on so cup grabbed it all and emptied today.
