Hello everyone!

I was wondering if someone could help me identify what this is? My Duncan coral has been fine ever since I got it two weeks ago. But today I noticed my duncan looking more retracted during the day and even more retracted now. I blew soft jets of water on the polyp with a turkey baster to allow it close up for better observation. It appears to be a small brown clump. Should I be concerned? I placed the coral in a lower flow area and lower light, towards the bottom.

May or may not be an issue coral could be eating or expelling waste or zooxanthellae.... personally I would take it out and dip it, I always dip my corals in 3 stages 1. Hydrogen peroxide (add a capful or two in some tank water to dip it ) 2. Iodine (lugols solution) 3. Two little fishies Revive, as you can see I dip aggressively lol so I would say try iodine if not try a different dip, if nothing works and things get worse I personally would treat my tank or take the coral out and treat the water it’s in with chemiclean (gets rid of bacteria that could be bothering the coral including brown jelly) or you can do a series of furan-2 dips followed by iodine in order to get rid of bacteria it’s your choice give it time to recover between treatments as they can be pretty harsh on the coral...
