Not sure how brains react to iodine, but when my torch got bjd I dipped it in lugol's. If it is bjd I would remove it from that tank to another if you have one to keep it from spreading. Seems like this is one of the toughest ones to cure.

Good luck, I hope your coral survives!

What type of brain, favia or trachy? Brown jelly is nasty. Depending on coral, there may be no hope. Just stop it from spreading. Peroxide worked for me. Read up on the mixture ratio and time of dip.

Dumb question, how can you tell its bjd?
I lost a long tentical plate coral a couple days after I bought it.
It looked like brown slime but how to tell for sure? Or did it just die? Whole coral was dead in less then 12 hours

That sounds like bjd just had my purple torch die from bjd killed really fast.

Cut off as much as you can and may survive, if it is BJD. Do you have any pics?

Brown jelly looks like thin layer of tan colored slime. It comes off easily with slight water movement. Be careful not to get it into tank. Carefully take out coral and use turkey baster to blow off the slime. Then dip. Where slime is the coral below it is dead. Only unaffected flesh can be saved. Stress or injuries will open the door for brown jelly.

I lost a dragon soul torch with that I try fw dip but dont work on mine good luck
