Hello everyone.
What is the best course of action to deal with brown jelly on my torch? It stared with my small frogspawn. I had to cut off the dying head, dip for 10min and It made it. No my torch starting to do the same. Is this stuff contagious? worst part I try to suck it out with a turkey baster but some spread all over the tank, bad move. I have a hammer, a frogspawn, and bubble that are at risk if this is contagious. I will be doing surgery to a torch tonight.

Use iodine , coral Rx, Revive ,careful peroxide.

If it doesn’t abate. You’ll have to toss it.

I will add iodine to my tank tonight. I just hope I don't get the others sick.

I believe furan 2 dips are the best course of action for bjd...
Takes care of the bacterial funk

1 packet mixed into a half gallon of water, pop acans in and really flush them using a turkey baster, leave them in for 10-15 mins, pull them out and rinse in a container of clean tank water before placing them back into the system.

Depending on how bad the bacterial infection (bjd) is, you might have to repeat this process over about 10 days....

Thanks. Good to know!

No worries bud...

Also if they’re covered in snot, they’re goners.
The treatment method I mentioned is a preemptive strike.
You have to have a keen eye to notice there’s a bacterial infection taking hold and act quickly.
Generally that’s when they get sunk in while all your other acans are puffed out, and you notice this occurring over a couple of days, that’s when you have to jump into action...

50/50 dip of aquarium water and peroxide may help for a couple minutes. Most of the decaying flesh will fall off.

Just stick to the furan2 like I mentioned earlier bud...
It’s the only treatment that effectively works for bjd on acans

So far I was able to save 2/3 of my torch. I am guessing not bad. I had to frag the heads and dip several times but it looks like I am winning. I guess the positive side is that, I know how torch for sale lol
