Torch just split heads and tonight I see a dark brown spot where the new mouth is. Is this the dreaded brown jelly? Is there any saving it if it is? Could it be a big piece of poop as I just fed them yesterday? Do I wait and see? Ugh
! I love that coral

How does the flesh on the outside of the head look? That's almost always a first indicator with torches.

If you just fed them yesterday, I would assume it's probably doing its business.

rest of it looks okay and it has a huge mouths on it so hoping it's just doing its thing

bad news. It is brown jelly. I removed before work. Have it sitting in iodide and then will do a hy drogen peroxide soak. But it has lost flesh. Is there any saving? Can I put it back and observe? Or is it a risk/loss

need a current pic ,but thinking not worth risk Susan.

sure is a pretty one, do you still have smaller tank up?
rinse well give a chance in there ?
would not risk reef.

Yeah, I have an observation tank. rather neglected but better than just tossing. I'll try it there
