brown like dust/hair on sand

so my 1st marine tank has been running for around 2months know after cycle and everything looks ok on rockwork! no green algae but I keep getting a like brown dust/hair fine coating on the sand bed" its more in the slower parts of tank at sides! also like a brown/white hair on glass" normally at corners!

is this whot the ugly stage is whot people talk about?

should I just leave it be ? just clean the glass like I normally do every week! or keep doing smaller water changes?

I don't really wont to keep doing water changes because iv saw some posts where that guys say that very low nutrients can bring on Dino or cyano ?

my N03 nitrate is 2ppm and phosphate is 0.01 on hanna checker"

You can just leave it or siphon it out. Wipe off the glass. It is prob diatoms which are first to grow on fresh sand. As they use up all the silica they will go away. If you are not feeding your tank you can reduce water changes to maybe 1 time a month. If you are feeding then cut back a bit on the water changes for a while.

Right now I would say you do not have much in your sand to warrent a sand sifter. Plus it will move all your sand around including dumping it all over your rocks and stuff.
If you want something to cruze the sand Nassarius snails work great.

Feel free to add a few snails or hermits if you like. The snails will busy themselves with the glass if the rock isn't growing much algae yet. Hermits will find food, or can be fed. When people say clean up crew, I always think of those massive starter packs. I wouldn't go that route on a new tank. It's fun to go to the fish store and pick out a few choice crew members... plus, gives you a chance to oogle the fish and corals!
