Brown LTA question.

I had a quick question about my LTA. I got it about a week or 2 ago when I did my water change and it has been flawless so far. It attached immediately and has been eating 2-3 small pieces of shrimp every other day and opening fully ever day. Today I noticed it has it’s mouth open just a little. Now there is no slime coming out of it or poop or anything and our water quality is all way good. The only changes are that I only fed it 2 small pieces of shrimp last night as we got in late from a event here in Colorado. Could it be hunger or wanting more food? No I don’t know my water paramentors or lights. The tank is a Red Sea 45 and everything is set from the gentleman that set the tank up a year ago and our water has never been off. I do plan on going and getting the water checked today when I get some water for the ato. Here are some pictures.

They tend to do that from time to time. Remember, Nems like a little phosphate so try not to strip the water too much!

Ok I’ll keep a eye on it. I do know my
Yellow Tang bothers it all the time
Being that it’s in a area that seems to collect a lot of food so that might be why it’s annoyed. How bad is it to move them.

It is attached to a buried rock if that will help move it a little easier .

Unless you have seen the tang actually steal from it I would just leave it alone.
It should be ok.

It actually sounds like you are overfeeding, and that can actually stress them, but having said that I don't see anything really bad or to be concerned about, and a week or two is still pretty new to tank.

I would not mess w/ it by trying to move it.

Really, w/ good light there is no need to spot feed at all, and small foods like mysis squirted towards it a couple times a week would be better, maybe an occasional treat once a month of a small piece of shrimp or scallop.

It normally takes at least a couple weeks for a new anemone to really acclimate, maybe even longer.

Ok so maybe I’ll cut it back to once a week. I assumed it was happy because it was taking the food and not spitting it back out.

If there’s a piece of shrimp or some seaweed in it she will take it out of the anemone. And she seems to like to poo on it almost every day.

We've often suspected clowns poo helps feed the anemone, so no harm there.

Use grabbers and place right at mouth, and even hold the grabbers near to keep thieves away when spot feeding
