Hello I was wondering if someone could help me identify this nuisance algae/sponge/thing(?) that has popped up recently.

it is growing all over the rock work and in between the zoas, etc.

Any idea what this is?

I could be wrong so you may want to get a second opinion.. but it looks like dinoflagellates. Fairly difficult to get rid of, however there’s few threads in here that provide some pretty great info in regards to battling them. I have them right now but I’m also currently fish less and coral less, so I’m simply blacking out for a few days which should take care of them.

If it is them, add some nutrients to the tank. It’s believed that dinos grow due to the lack of competition they have with other algaes. So when your tank Is squeaky clean, they can thrive.
