Brown Palys Kill Kill Kill

I found 6 brown palys on the rock my duncan lives on. The rock has been in the tank about a year. The duncan is not growing out on that side. I think the palys are prob stinging it. The palys are about 1 inch tall. I can get the rock out of the tank. Can I cut them off close to the base and paste over them with something to kill off the remaining stem? Or?

If you cut them they’ll grow back. Aptasia X works good
