Brown/red coating on rock

What is this growing on my rocks and how can I fix it (I’m assuming it’s bad)

Just wait, it usually gets worse before it gets better. All part of the "new tank uglies"
With time, and patience, things settle down and look like the beautiful reef we all have in our heads.
