I took a piece of RP out of my tank and put it in a friends. We share water and our systems are pretty similar,, except i run a radion and he runs different leds. I put the RP at the top of his rocks but it lost color and is brown with slight greenish tints. In my tank it looks awesome. Anyone know why? I figured lighting but he has hydropora and Birdsnests that are bright and look really good.

would have to know more on the systems params to see just how similar they are. feeding could be different to different bio-loads ect. Even if they were close sometimes they coral take on a brownish color when entering a new environment from lighting to flow to nutrients. Should settle in a turn back to be normal. A local reefer had some hairy green mille that went completely brown in my tank but about a month now in ands its already back to green

his water and yours are way different.

nothing to do with light. his RP will come around ina month if his other corals are doing well.

What are your water parameters? without them we cant help you. perhaps your friends tank isnt so similiar then again we dont know. im having a similar issue with my RP but stable water parameters are they key to keeping these guys back along with a good amount of light and ***** flow
