Regarding the Goni. Didn’t you mention the nitrate spike a day or two ago. Probably that’s it. I notice corals don’t IMMEDIATELY react to a change and may show the implications a few days after a change. I am sure it will bounce back if things are in check now
Ah that's a good point. Just odd he's the only one. I'll see how it goes once nitrates go down but I really want to keep them at ~10ppm and not back to zero where they were. My new hammer is LOVING the nitrates
So if anybody curious! I know dark rabbit knows. Lol. The green killing machine worked. Just goes to prove you don’t need to buy top end. Lol
So the day I went to buy the sterilizer this popped up in my YT videos:
One of the things they mentioned is hobby grade vs commercial or something... spend the money now and it will be better long term.
This might be true however for me this is a medication for an issue, and the GKM works. I don't need another pump, don't need to size it, plumb it in, etc. I just drop it in and things get fixed.
If I ever plan to run a UV sterilizer 24x7 then I MIGHT go higher end, plumb it in, etc. but this was an urgent situation and I needed to deal with it ASAP. I also don't have time right now for another 'project' since we're moving and I already have to plan for a complete tank move.
This was 100% the right move. Thanks a ton for the tip on this! The blackout took them down to 20% of their former population and this thing finished the job. When I think of all the time and money I've wasted medicating and water changing for other things like cyano issues, other algaes, etc... when I could have just dropped this in. Christ...
Knock on wood, this wasn't much of a dino 'battle' at all lol.
