Brown rings on tips of new toadstool leather

[Cthulukelele]

Hi I got a new toadstool leather, and it has started to get these brown rings near the top of the tips. What is this? It has been extending beautifully (better than in the store) and seems otherwise healthy. I dipped the coral when I got it ~4 days ago

The look like small brown rings maybe a couple of hairs in diameter

I've never kept toadstools, but know that they sometimes shed. Perhaps someone on the #reefsquad can offer insight . . .
