Are these due to high nutrients? No3 around 20ppm (red sea) and phosphate at 0.9 (Hanna).

Tank is about 2 months old.

Looks like dinos. Usually due to an imbalance of nutrients (usually bottoming out) or due to lack of competition in the tank. You can add various types of bacteria and live rock to help increase the biodiversity in the tank. Siphoning off or blowing off the dinos can help too, as some strains can be toxic. If you have any corals in the tank, you might want to run some carbon.
Depending on the type of dinos, a UV can help as well.

I'm curious as why did you suggest that and what it's doing ?

I do have some gsp, mushrooms, goniopora, hammer and elegance corals. No SPS.

As I mentioned in my original post, dinos can release toxins. The carbon can absorb that (typically).

Ok, I am in a bad spot here. I just got a tang and I read that carbon can cause issues for them. I had a small carbon filter in my refugium. So for his (or her) sake, I took it out. Today, my corals are all dying. Could removing the carbon in the refugium have done this? What should I do here. They are going down fast. I also added a couple new frags and wonder if they could have been the issue to begin with?? Help!

I have a tang and run carbon and have never had any issues.
I've never heard of anyone removing carbon and triggering a mass die-off event. Carbon absorbs toxins (and other stuff) and won't release them back into the water.
I have a feeling that something else is going on in your tank.
And so you don't hijack OP's thread, maybe start one of your own stating what's going on along with your tank information.

Right, I had the carbon in there to help clariify the water and keep the diatoms down etc. But now read that carbon's not good for tangs? So what to do? I just bought these corals, dipped them and have them in the tank. Second week. So as to not hijack this post, I was following it. I did start my own. I'll post there instead, thanks!

Unfortunately nothing will eat that. Dino's smoked all my snails and some coral before it was all over. At the end of the day, a UV cleared them up fairly easily. By chance did you use vibrant and now have the Dinos? That was my case.

I used a Green Killing Machine UV in a 50 cube despite many saying it wouldn't work (under powered). Most will say you need a microscope to id the species of Dino, which is true. However, I just rationalize the UV purchase as a general use tool not only for Dinos and it worked out. You may not be so fortunate to have the Dinos that enter the water column overnight though.

I haven't add anything.

Tank's doing a fallow period now, been about 4 weeks without fish.

I also checked my kh and it's about 6.75 (using aqua forest reef salt) and PH about 8. And I'm using RODI water.

Could it be due to any of this?
