Brown spot on Coral Beauty

Apologies up front, but I cannot get a good picture of this fish and the spot on it. Will keep trying.

My coral beauty has a brown spot (irregular shape, about 1/16") on its back/side right before the dorsal fin. It is actually on its upper side of the back. There seems to be a small one on the opposite side also, but it is hard to tell. The fish is acting normal and eating well. I just noticed it last night. All other fish seem ok.

At first I thought it might be a coral sting but I am leaning away from that now. This fish is chased often by the other fish (clowns, tangs) and it might be an injury/infection. If so, what should I do?

Are there any diseases/fungus/bacteria that produce brown spots on coral beauties?

Could be a secondary infection from an injury. It would help if you could post a pic.

If it is bacterial then you would have to remove the fish and treat with antibiotics. Metro-Kanaplex-furan2 are the mix of choice Or spectogram nfg.

Sounds like bacterial but a picture always helps when seeking assessment or advise.
You may try a freshwater bath, AP melafix which is reef safe OR Prazi-pro which all will be effective

Trying get a pic but that thing I camera shy! Is the freshwater bath to test for flukes or worms? Also I have praz, that is reef safe, correct?

Praz - reef safe yes and start with that

Prazi-pro is pretty reef-safe (may damage ornamental or other worms), but not terribly effective against bacterial infections. It's great against flukes, and internal parasites when bound to food with Seachem Focus.

A photo of the affected area would help a _lot_ with diagnosis, but if there are bacteria involved, then it's antibiotics you want, and those are not reef-safe, so you'll want a QT as well.
