All, I have a foxface that is new to the tank for about 6 days. He is still swimming around and looking healthy, but all of sudden, at least within the past 4 hours, he developed brown spots on one side. Does anyone know what this is and the proper course of treatment. I have a picture of both sides for comparison.

Could be a couple of things. Sometimes they just do the color changes when spooked. Which is very easy for Foxfaces. Another is coral stings. Do you have any corals in the tank that it may have laid against?

Its eye appears cloudy? Or is that just reflection? Could be bacterial.

Think the eyes are just a camera artifact, they look good in person. I have mostly Acros frags in the tank, but I do have a hammer coral on the side he swims pasts, and a long tentacled plate coral (both have grown like crazy) on the other side he swims into. Would those be capable of stinging and putting those spots?

Yep. The hammer for sure. The plate if he lays near it. They like to hide in coral to sleep. Mine loved that sinularia.
