My bubble coral has developed brown specked spots all over it. seems to be doing fine and acting normally. my first thought was flatworms, but even with magnification i cannot tell. thought about dipping it in revive just in case. anyone have an idea on what is going on here? thanks!

I don't have a solution or an ID. But I have a question: If you use something like a turkey baster and blow a stiff stream of water at the coral, do the spots blow off or even move?

And lets try for some extra help: #reefsquad

Im going to follow. I’m curious as to what’s happening with it... It may not be necessary, but just in case someone may ask in the near future: please post your salinity, pH, ammonia, nitrite.

have you made any recent changes in your tank?

They appear to be internal so I doubt revive will help.. I would be curious if they are moving? If you cant tell take multiple pictures over the course of the day and compare photos to see if spots have moved.

As an update, this was likely zooxanthellae algae repopulating the coral, as it is now completely the brown color and doing very well.
