IMO no. all the ones i've gotten have been clear... Maybe you got a used bulb or a tested one?

Yeah it totally looks used! I contacted DFS and they are sending me a new one. Not sure how this happens, what's funny is the bulb I pulled out of my fixture looks brand new and this one looks like it's been used for years, the outside is all dusty. I bought a used MH fixture about a year ago and haven't changed the original bulbs until today.

That makes sense to ensure the bulbs work. This bulb looked dusty like it had been in a fixture for quite some time. I have it up and running until the new one gets here. Seems to work OK.
