Sohal tang is rubbing against sand at times. I see these large brown spots. They seem to be a bit raised. What are they? Picture seems black but in person they are definitely brown. I appreciate any help thank you.

There is a little blue hue from lights throwing off the spots and can you post pics under white light and pics- not screen shots?
Are there anemones in the tank? May be stings but again blue effect making it hard to determine. Anything on the hepatus tang ?
Is fish eating and how is its breathing, , , normal or labored ?

You are correct about the pictures I'll try to get more tomorrow but honestly it looks like 1cm brown freckles and there is about 7 of them. They don't seem as raised as I thought. No one else is showing any symptoms. Fish is eating well and normal breathing.

How long have you had the fish and how long has it had the spots?
Jay
I noticed the behavior today. There are about 7 spots on one side and I noticed them today because of the behavior. I've owned the fish for 1 week. I'm going to start treating with prazipro tomorrow if that makes sense? There are no inverts in tank until another 1 or 2 weeks.

anemone in the tank or hammer coral or even elegance?

There are only fish in the tank. No invertebrates, corals or anything other than fish.
Any other fish such as rabbit fish?

I have
3 hippo tangs
Achilles
Sohal
Naso
Kole
Sailfin
Gem
Purple
Powder blue
Diamond goby
7 clownfish

Leading up to this behavior of scratching on the sand he had been fighting several fish. The last fight he had was with the kole tang. After that the sohal became more docile. I wouldn't be surprised if he injured himself in one of the fights. But I'm not sure.

Im suspecting injury or sting and suspect this may be the case. Generally fights with other tangs ends up will small cuts from the tail scalpel but its very possible from fighting and keep an eye on it to assure its subsiding and becoming an infection of some sort.

If these fish have not been treated with prazipro, then it would be a good idea to do so, just as a matter of course. However, if the spots are all on one side, that doesn't lean towards flukes, those have a more random distribution. Fighting can result in bruises on just one side like that.

I'm noticing white spots now. Considering my fish list, can I go hypo in display tank for 30 days?

Actually is this lympho? It is white blotches I see on the fins. Currently visible on fins of achilles, sohal, powder blue and naso. Dont mind the floating debris. The white blotches on the fins is what I’m referencing. There isnt really any change in behavior from the fish.

Hello @Jay Hemdal @vetteguy53081 my fish have been in copper 2 weeks now and all ich spots and or velvet spots are gone. I'll keep treatment going another 2 weeks. Last spot I saw was yesterday. But now my kole tang yesterday had what looked like a uronema sore on one side of its body. Today there is another one on the other side. What should I do? The kole tang is acting a bit shy. Could he have been injured by my other tangs? The marks look like almost perfect circles. No inverts or corals in the tank. Only tangs, clownfish and angelfish. I tried my best to get a picture but he is camera shy

Unfortunately, there are dots on glass making these pics hard to see and will need clearer pics under blue lighting. Please assure both glass and lens are clean prior to taking pics.
Glad to hear on progress with copper with a reminder, go the full 30 days of treatment

Tough to see much in the photos. Uronema is rare to non-existent in tangs, I’ve never had a case. This could be secondary bacterial infection from the ich (pretty common) as well as from tankmate aggression now that the fish are feeding better. Is the water testing good?
