Anyone got good ideas on how to rid a tank of these while not killing anything else in the tank? I have some that are growing through my ZOAs and slowly overtaking them , among other things. I was thinking of using something like Aiptaisa X on them.. but I also dont want to kill the ZOAs. thoughts?

here ya go.

you think that is really the only way?
I do. They are a coral so anything you put in the water wouldn’t kill just them. Plus there really aren’t products for that purpose. Take the rocks out with them on it. Only looks like a couple. And get in between the Zoas with a razor blade and scrape them off.

Got the same problem!! Hitchhiked on my freak hairs . Had no idea what they were ! I scrubbed them off a couple months back and it came back worse!

I took a touth brush to it and scrubbed it off. Think you’ll have to do a bit more to get them all gone. Might be tricky with the zoas

well i don't like it, but I think i reluctantly agree with you.. they seem much worse than GSP in the way they mat and i have seen them in the past shoot off little single polyps to relocate.... and they're brown.

Sucks but you’ll have to remove the gsp Mat from within the zoa by hand using tweezers. Make sure you pull off all the gsp Mat or it will grow baxk. I have the same issue with some growing inside my dragonseyes.

Those are cloves
You can cut and remove or take a pipette and drop kalkwasser powder mixed into a paste over the top of each once
Many butterflies eat them but may go after the coral instead

I have been battling invasive purple star polyps for years. Every few months, when the mats get bigger, I hit them with Aptasia-X. Works well, it’s just difficult to get them all, so they always come back. Or pop up somewjeee else. I wish I could dose copper (not really) or something like that which would just melt the polyps and nothing else. Unfortunately I don’t know anything that would work like that.

i saw there was a BSP solution that you could add to your tank and it only targeted BSP ... i saw a couple of videos.. it looked great..

but i just cant believe that it would not kill a lot of other things (even though it claimed not too).
