i bought a muschroom rock two days ago and it came with this brown piece of coral that looks like it’s encrusted to the rock and it has now had small polyps that are beginning to open. Any idea what this may be. Closest thing I have found are brown star polyps.

Looks like Acrossota amboinensis
I had to deal with that stuff too.. its VERY invasive and will grow VERY fast..

U gotta def. take that stuff out quick.

im not 100% as Acrossota has no feathers on the polyps.. yours look to be a bit "feathery" if that words even exists.

Do you have a clearer picture?
