Brown stuff all over my sand

I have this brown stuff growing all over my sand what is it and how can i stop it

Looks like diatoms. Is your tank new and are you using RO water? It is common in new tanks or tanks that use tap water. It will go away with stable parameters.

Is the tank fairly new? Could be a diatom bloom, perfectly normal in new and cycling tanks. Goes away on its own.

Its 4 months old and im using a BRS RO DI unit for my water i have 0 .03 phosphate and 1 nitrates

One of my club members shared a tip this week about this type of issue.
He found that his water pressure wasn’t high enough on his RO/DI unit It was at 40 psi and his was able to get it to 60 psi and his unit started working better and his silicate went away and so did his diatoms.

ok great i have the same problem im on a well and im only getting 40 psi at best it can drop down to 30 psi that maybe my problem how did he get it up in psi ???
