Brown stuff came out....

I was trying to pick my drag off the epoxy and I accidentally pierced one of my electric green eye zoas and brown stuff came out. Was that the stuff they eat or was it diseased?
It's in my qt now...

Was it out of the mouth or the actual body of the polyp? If the mouth, possibly just stressed it and releasing zooxanthellae?

No way to tell, it was smaller than a pencil eraser. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to make my tank go crazy. But everything seems normal still

Activated carbon should help remove any toxins to be safe and a WC couldn't hurt. Wouldn't really stress it though. Just keep an eye on it. Should be fine though.
