Any ideas as to what each color of dust algae that we wipe from the walls might tell us? In regards to PO4, NO3, etc. Just wondering if anyone had any insight.

Yes, tank is in a disheveled state with no real rockscape yet, but most all of the corals survived. I noticed a good amount of green dust the first few weeks the tank was running. Now the reoccurrence of algae is starting to slow and I’ve noticed the color is shifting towards brown.

Mine goes back and forth between green and brown as well. Haven't been able to link it to nutrients. Maybe I'll start logging the algae on my glass in my apex so I can look for a correlation.
