I bought a beautiful pink acropora millepora for 150 bux it arrived brown. He had put carbon in the water probably to get the stench out and the water looked clear.

Anyway I contacted the shop and they said it will get back to its original colors in 2 weeks if my water parameters and conditions are good.

I somehow doubt this. You think they owe me a refund or do I wait it out longer? Already waited a week and its still brown.

If there is still tissue on the skeleton and any PE at all there is still hope the color will return. It takes WEEKS sometimes. I had a browned out milli I got 2 months ago. It took 4 weeks for me to notice any color changes. It’s still coloring up now and getting prettier by the day! Patience will be rewarded.

You will likely have to wait several weeks. I like to order random SPS 10 packs off Ebay because they're a cheap way to get some good corals. A lot of these corals look really lousy when they come in, especially the high end acropora. My last order had a Calacali and Crayola acro and both of them looked like grey blobs with hints of blue. After a month or two in my system, both are coloring up well, the Calacali much more so than the Crayola. I honestly don't know how some people get such lousy colors out of their acros.

Moral of the story, you'll have to wait several weeks, if not longer. If you have other high end acros in your tank and they look nice, it'll probably color up.

Can we see a picture of the coral? If it’s wild or mariculture then it’s going to be a different story from a frag from a tank. Also you shouldn’t get money back from an acropora browning out during shipping. Coloring them up is just part of the fun :) If you post a pic maybe someone can help suggest what will get it to perk up quicker.

Sure here is the picture. It's the largest piece on top. Title of the product was this: "Indo Millepora 100% Aquaculture"

Under blue light the brown acropora looks pretty much the same while the other 3 small frags color up nicely.

Yea mariculture pieces need strong light to keep their color ime. Do you have other corals? If your using leds I can’t help you but maybe someone else can. These pieces need to sit in one place to recover from shipping and color back up and the pink ones are finicky ime. Be prepared to be patient. As long as it is healthy looking just leave it in one place til you see new growth.
