Last week I started using to part, started out with Alki at 9.0 Calcium at 440.

Was dosing 10 milliliters of each everyday this week, just tested, alkalinity was down to 7.3 Calcium at 440

Should I manually boost up the alkalinity? BRS says to still do it using two part which would actually be overdoing it on the Calcium side one would think..

Opinions?

Double check your testing.

If alk is down, then adjust it back up using one of the calculators (BRS has one on their site). I'd recommend not raising alk more than 1 dKH per day.

Stick to both equally unless calcium continues to rise further.

The amount of extra calcium that comes from an extra 2 dKH of alkalinity (less than 20 ppm) will hardly be noticeable with most kits a their inherent testing variability.

Ph is at 8.0, should be a bit higher correct?

Fish,softies and Lps

If so, what's the best way to raise?

Thank You

Randy, I'm scratching my head on your response. Assuming the OP's testing is correct. It the OP has dropped 1.7 dkh in a week at 10 mls each/day, I would think the two reasonable answers would be:
1. Boost back up to 9 dkh and then continue with more than 10mls each to maintain at 9 dkh
2. Continue dosing both, but increase the volumes to some volume greater than 10ml....lets say 12 mls each.

Continue testing and adjust volumes as needed.

If the OP simply continues dosing 10 mls each, alk will continue to fall.

You're pH is just fine....don't attempt to play with it.

Sorry if I was unclear. I meant my comment to be an add on to your recommendation. So I meant stick to both equally but use more than is being used now. Increase them both enough daily to get to the new alk target. Either your 1 or 2 plan are fine ways to accomplish that, IMO. :)
