After flooding my basement a few weeks ago I'm just getting to installing my Rodi auto shut off from BRS.
It's installed I just have one question when I'm testing it and manually lift the float up, it will run and still build pressure for about 30 seconds then shut off, is this normal?

I remember reading somewhere where they said the float can't handle all the pressure from the RO/DI unit which is why it uses that other valve.

After the unit shuts off I let the float go again and a fair amount of pressure comes out, more than I thought it would that's all.

Maybe this is normal operation???

I have personally never had an issue using a float as well as the standard RODI shutoff. I use both of those along with a booster pump which has a pressure switch to kill the pump and none have failed. But that's only my experience. I have had the RODI shutoff fail once but that was before I installed the booster pump.

I guess my question is is it normal when the float shuts off the flow that the membrane is still building pressure for about another 15 to 30 seconds before you can hear it shut down?

Cool thanks, now to the next project. I just ordered 2 marsaqua 165"s for my 75 gallon bow. Taking the t-5 off line and trying these. Too many good reviews by members not to gamble 179.00.
