I have a couple BRS Dosers for Alk and Ca on my tank and the lines are about 3'-4' long.
I notice a lot of air pockets in the tubing throughout the run from the storage container to the doser, then from the doser to the sump.

Is that normal? I can take pics if you need to see.

It’s normal if you haven’t purged the lines. It takes a while but take each line and put in a cup and just run the pump until the bubbles are gone.

I did purge them when I first set them up. Seems like it is grabbing air from somewhere

2 possibilities I can think of is one replace the internal tubes and second is to try to cut the clear tubes with a flat razor blade and try to reseat. I’d try redoing the clear tubes first because the internal tubes are about $12.00 each from BRS.

If the internal tube get even a small pin hole it won’t move any water. I had that happen to me with 2 of my pumps. You might have a small pin hole in one of the tubes coming from the containers holding your liquids. I will change those first. But you can take the pump internal tube and inspect them.

I actually have like 6' of that BRS tubing so I can change those out and see if that helps....I'm sure they are over 2 years old.

I had the same problem of air getting in somewhere. Turns out the softer airline tubing that went into my alk container was not making a good seal in the small bulkhead. I switched this portion of tubing out with the more rigid rodi tubing that comes with the brs doses and problem solved. I still use the soft line going from the pump to the tank as it’s easier to work with

Try some more rigid tubing, will be a cheap solution, or at least let you know if the problem is elsewhere
