Just went downstairs to check on my tank and noticed the ALK container is still full after a week. Used my Apex to turn on the BRS 1.1ml pump and nothing. Unplugged it and plugged it into a regular outlet and nothing. Tried the Calc pump with same results. Purchased both new less than a year ago and outlets on the Apex work fine. Thoughts?

IMHO, there are virtually no dosing pumps on the market that are worthy of being called good quality or reliable long term. They all use silicone hoses that eventually stretch and change dosage rates or wear through and even worse, leak! I even tried a medical grade dosing system and it had the same issues. And I don't think throwing a lot of money at a high price, bit name dosing pump gets you a whole lot more quality other than slightly better electronics and motor. But even they seem cheaply made to me.

I'd like to find a dosing system that works without the silicone hoses.

I would contact BRS. The tubes have a 1 year warranty and pump head a two year warranty

I have 4 BRS 1.1ml dosing pumps, 2ea on my DT annd FT. They are going on 4 years old now and work very well. I suppose I should get new tubing sets for them? For the price I don't think they can be beat. Pair them up with simple digital lamp timers and they are good to go.

I have contacted them. Just odd they both went at the same time.

BRS sent me two new ones. Both which did not work when plugged into the Apex but did when plugged into the wall. Did a power reset on my Apex and they work with the Apex now. Odd.

Ive had mine for about 4 months so far and they have been great.

I have the dos, only had it about 3 months but so far no issues

I guess I should clarify as what I meant by “thoughts” is what happened not what experience have you had. They work great but it seems my Apex did something to them.

I have had a failure where the gears somehow stripped after a bit over a year. So far the replacement had been working great, but it has not reached the year mark yet.
