Hi All,
So I have 4 brs dosing pumps and 2 of them are making a grinding noise when on. I have seen a few searches come up with this being a pretty comon thing.
Not sure what the deal is. Anyone experience this with resolution?
Thinking maybe replace the tube inside and the dosing tubes.

My pump does it one and off, just nature of the beast. It's the mechanical motor in the unit not the tube.

It just started doing this. So something has changed. It cant be normal to operate with a grinding noise.
Waiting for BRS to chime in. Seems to be a fairly comon thing from what I read.

I wonder if we're talking about the same thing, maybe not because there is an inherit noise from the motor sounds like old wind up toys and then of course the sometimes loud snap noise of when the doser is activated. Sometimes people mistaken the mechanical noise for grinding.

I have 2 dosing pumps. The one for Alk, BRS replaced because of the grinding noise and a loud knock/thump when starting. It would do this without the tubing even attached. The new one started doing the same thing 2-4 weeks later. My doser for Cal barely makes a sound. I've always wondered if there's a difference between viscosity between the two solutions and that leads to the pump being louder or whether that's just coincidence.

This seems to be somewhat comon. I called brs today and the tech didnt really know what I was talking about which surprised me. He did add that I needed new pumps. Mine are out of the warrenty period. The first one started this after a year and second after about 2 - 3 years
Gonna replace the lines in the next few days and see what happens.

They are pretty cheap mechanical devices. Both of mine would make a grinding sound ..... followed eventually by complete failure. I dumped them for something better.

I have 4 dosing pumps 3 run fairly quiet but one is noticeably louder but still so far doses fine

Mine are noisy (get the loud knock occasionally) but have worked great - knock on wood - thus far (about two weeks shy of a year).
