BRS Dosing Pump leaching!

Wow thanks for the drawing! R2R is amazing how much people care. What about build up in the pipes?

I think they would be ok, just keep your eye on it to make sure theres no buildup.

You could add your ato output to the pipe too so it could rinse it out :)

It clearly says in the product description "and will not back siphon". So give BRS a call on Monday.

It was not a back siphon...of it were he would just need a check valve. It is a forward siphon as its continuing to flow in the intended direction.

Back siphon forward siphon, same thing. It's a siphon and if working correctly it wouldn't happen either direction.

I agree either way call BRS but if the product description says will not back siphon..it is not back siphoning...

It would appear that some are not clear on how and when siphoning will occur.

A siphon will occur when the level of the exit pipe is below the level of the liquid reservoir. It does not matter what the piping or plumbing does between these two points…..it could go up, down, around…again, what is critical is the level of the exit pipe to reservoir level.
with a dosing peristaltic pump it should pinch the tube shut...so it does matter what the tube does

btw I work on very high end peristaltic pumps and have no issue with back siphon. even with lower quality pumps with 2 cams however, a peristaltic pump should not back siphon as one cam is always in contact with the tube and should pinch it closed. hope brs resolves this

Chameleon, a missunderstanding....I'm only talking about siphoning. It doesn't matter it the tube/hose goes high or low or all about....what only matters with a siphon is the initial reservoir level and the end of the tube/hose. I hope this clarifies.

One thing i wanted to add...regardless of what happens with BRS the solution the OP implemented is good to have in place. Stuff happens..its good to make sure there is no chance of a siphon situation regardless of what the pump should or should not do...just a good safety check in place.
