Good Morning,
I have a question and need some info. I need to start running Carbon on my new 210 build. I have the BRS Dual Carbon/GFO reactor which works and it was on my old 150 system. My problem is I had a lot of aptasia in my old system due to my own fault. If I use bleach and run it through the reactor and try to clean it would it be safe to use? I don't want any aptasia in my new system because I am using old equipment from my 150. Can aptasia spores survive a bleach bath?

My Ipinion;
Aptasia can survive a nuclear blast.
A long soak in bleach might work.

Nope. Good soak in bleach should do nicely. Boiling is good too (take o-rings out first). Freshwater and just being dry probably does it, but bleach is cheap and last thing you want to think is ...man, there's some aiptasia, sure wish I'd bleached it.
