BRS Dual Reactor - Pellets?

Anyone ever tried this? I have a BRS Dual media reactor, recommended for GFO and Carbon. Curious if I can mix GFO and Carbon in the first chamber (which i've done before) and put pellets in the second chamber. Thoughts?
