Brs dual reactor turning into cheato reactor

I have a brs dual reactor ( carbon/ gfo ) anyone ever convert the gfo canister to grow cheato in? I was thinking about doing it.

I have not done it but it sure seems like a reasonable endeavor. Take a shot at it and keep us posted.

Thought the same thing.
my only issue is you have to twist off the cup not sure how functional that would be with the lights Wrapped around.

I wouldn’t think they would be a very good algae reactor for a couple of reasons. First, total volume isn’t that much and the BRS canisters are pretty thick so not sure how much light would actually penetrate through.

I might convert them both to cheato I’m not sure yet. I bought a light strip ( plant growing spectrum) probably like 10 feet or so An wrapped it really tight around one an I’m gonna wrap something black around the outside of them to reflect the light inwards. It seems decently bright. But I agree they aren’t very large.

I would be careful about covering the LEDs. Depending what wattage you got, they could generate enough heat to crack the plastic over time. Happened to me on diy algae reactor, albeit it was on a thinner piece of acrylic.

Very true I read about it. Maybe I’ll super glue an paint it. I don’t want it to be that “ghetto” I’d still like it to look as good as possible so we will see.
