BRS HC GFO Use

I would not use the High Capacity in a bag. I would small amounts of it in an active reactor and change it frequently since it will soak up P and exhaust quickly. It will not hurt anything, just probably not as effective.

If you leave ANY GFO around for long in the tank, it will get coated with organics and not be effective anymore since the organics will coat the binding surfaces. Passive GFO use in a bag is a long/medium-term kind of thing and without the active flow, it will not be used to it's potential. I would just use the normal stuff in a bag or in any application when you want to leave it in the system for more than a few days.

PSA and as a reminder, GFO will unbind P to water equilibrium, always change your GFO when you are changing water or else the GFO will release bound phosphate into the water column after you change water and have just lowered it.
