God forbid a business that tries to make money....

You would think people would use their valuable time making videos for free, and not try to sell a product.

Eh you just described about 90% of the SW aquarium videos. Very few of them are trying to make any money, most are just reviews of products people purchased or methods they use on their own tanks.
BRS is one of the few that kind of runs on the edge between information and product promotion.
It has almost zero effect on experienced people but can suck newbies into emptying their wallets on stuff they may not need. I like the videos but like most people I already know what products I want and what methods work for me.

I think BRS does a great job at explaining both sides of every story, as a new reefer I have found there is very little fact in this hobby and alot of opinion. However, a company that sales product they use on over 50 tanks in there own shop and are willing to admit mistakes they make, gives me a warmer fuzzy then alot of other sources of information.

This is a good way of putting it, IMO
Good company. Still a business. Buyer beware. Money where their mouth is. Great for getting people in the hobby. Win/win

I don't have anything against BRS is fact they produce some very good videos and are very good at informing hobiest. However, I stumbled across a video that the title suggested it was one thing when in fact it wasn't at all. This is the video and it doesn't take much probing, scratching of head or thinking to see what I mean.

Now where is the promissed followup video? BRS sell a lot of skimmers probably many more, at a guess, than ATS's. You don't think they could have had second thoughts for some reason to do with revenue or pressure from skimmer manufacturers do you? Just a thought and a little conspiracy theory for you. ;)

I love their videos. After watching them if I need the product I go to Marine Depot and buy it because unlike BRS Marine Depot doesn't charge tax.

Generally speaking i buy items from the internet as the LFS around me are often quite a bit more than anything i can find online in terms of pricing, which is odd since my LFS are TSA,WWC and LRO. I would think that they would have a slightly better pricing due to volume of sales. Because im reefing on a normal dudes budget have to be very concerned with cost. So alot of amazon stuff but anything that i can i buy from BRS i usually try and buy. I like to do this because the info they provide to reefers during the beginning is invaluable. Even to seasoned vets the info can be great. I dont think they make any results or anything like that skewed. That would kill the reputation
