Picked up some Hanna testers which are much more accurate. Noticed Phosphates were 1.8. Picked up the BRS Mini Reactor. Running 1/4 cup BRS GFO high capacity and 1/2 cup Marineland Black Diamond Carbon. After just 12 hours, we are down to .03 phosphates. This should make our SPS much happier.

I'm pretty impressed. We didn't purchase one during our build because we didn't think we had room. But as you can see, we made it work. Output right next to the pumps, pushed right into tank.

We were using media bags, which just wasn't getting the job done. This mini reactor is probably ideal for tanks under 55g. May be able to get away with a little bigger though.

Your sump is backwards!

But yeah, the mini reactors make it easy to get media in a cramped area. This is supporting my 45g as well.

What kind of hang on tank skimmer are these ?
Thinking to get one myself. Can they be good gor 50g tank?
Thanks
