I purchased a bag of the blue Anion DI resin.
When I opened the bag it was really rank smelling. Is it suppose to smell bad?
Thanks

Yep, that's how you know you got the Anion resin. I fill mine outside and try my best to hold my breath.

Ok, I changed my blue and purple resin.
I ran almost 10 gals. Thru the system and I am getting 1 TDS reading?
Any ideas?

Where are you getting the 1 TDS reading?

Did you pack the resin in tight, to the point that nothing more would fit, even when applying a decent amount of pressure?

Getting the reading right after the resin.
I packed it tight. I have a lid that fits inside to use to pack it.

If it is packed tight ensure it's installed correctly and isn't damaged in anyway.

I'm assuming the resin was new and unopened prior to you repacking the cartridge yesterday?

How many resins do you run?

3? Or just the 2?

Installed correctly. The blue was new. Purple was leftover sealed in air tight container.
I ran the 2 followed by silicate buster.

Thought your name looked familiar ;)

How old is that buster? Is that color or non color changing on it?

I haven't had this much problem doing this. Had this unit for over 2 years and have changed resin many times.

That was going to be my next question which leads me to my conclusion that your TDS meter has probably drifted over time. If everything has been replaced, it's not the first time youve done it, and there isn't any damage the only thing left is your TDS meter.

That or you won the bad luck lottery with 3 bad resins. Which is another reason I say meter error.

Buster isn't but couple months old. It is a color changing.

What brand/model TDS meter do you have, and do you have a handheld you could use to check as well?
