I dropped my cheapo, but accurate refractometer that I've been using and now that it's broken, I'm looking into purchasing BRS's refractometer - I'm wondering if it's any good? The one I used was from Amazon, and it's very light compared to some people I know that use the brand name ones that have some weight to it.

I have one and it does the job, however, I originally bought a used refractometer (ATC I think) and it was all over the place. Chucked that one for a BRS. All seemed well using BRS calibration fluid until an ICP test came back showing my water at 28ppt, not 35ppt. Apparently the new cal fluid is off. I now use rodi water to calibrate so while the instrument is good, please note that the fluid may not be and plenty of others have had the same issue.
