Any reason to think a BRS unit or something similar would be better than an RO/DI unit purchased off eBay? I've had my eBay unit for years, using it with membrane/ filters/ DI resin purchased from BRS for years. Seems lately I am seeing TDS from my output way sooner than I would expect. I'm due to replace membranes/ filters/ resin, and am debating if there is any benefit to spending the extra money and just buying a new unit.

To my eye, seems like one unit would be able to push water through just the same as another, but figured I'd ask.

These units do have o rings and seals that will age and tear. I dont think there is much difference in the housings.

If using the same membranes, resin, etc, I see no reason to replace the whole unit. Just the guts as often as necessary
I will say however, that I have replaced orings and the like before on my BRA unit.. knowing I can get the correct ones directly from BRS makes life a little easier

Interesting. Maybe I will replace o-rings and filters/membrane/resin and see.

After that, pressure? Maybe a second DI chamber.
