Ok I have the brs 4 stage 75gpd value plus system which I converted to a 5 stage to run 2 carbons. Im wanting to add the 150gpd upgrade. I read somewhere I need to change the flow restrictor or something...

What exactly do I need and how do I change it? Thanks

With that upgrade you are running the membranes in series, so you use the same flow restrictor.....no change.

From what I read they recommend the 550 but my system came with the 400.... the 400 has lower waste ratio and the 550 has higher rejection......

Another option cause I will be getting my booster pump in the mail tomorrow is I can buy the aquatec 500 auto flush valve

Consider the 150 GPD upgrade an increase in GPD, you can make water faster, but it should not be considered a water saver.Since you are sending the waste or concentrated brine from the first membrane into the second it is even more important to keep the waste ratio up so the membranes do not scale up and fail. Do yourself a favor and buy a capillary tube flow restrictor and trim it to fit your exact water conditions. Membranes are flushed via the waste ratio, not with flush kits have no documented proven value other than to lighten your wallet and give you a warm fuzzy feeling.

Ok will do.... not worried about saving water.... just want to make it faster and have it tuned good

I get 150 GPD out of a single 75GPD RO membrane with an Aquatec 8800 booster pump at 95 psi. The kicker is the rejection rate is much better with the booster since membranes work better the higher the pressure is, I am at 99.4% rejection rate which means my TDS goes from 600+ to between 2 and 3. With my old dual membrane system it averaged 13-15 TDS so DI did not last nearly as long.
