Hi everyone i am new to the hobby. I have a question with some rubble rock i purchased from BRS. I ordered 10lbs and decided to put it into my small refugium. I added most of it without rinsing (stupid mistake #1). After about 5 hours in the sump i thought about it and decided i should probably of rinsed it and cycled it. I pulled it out of the tank and put in bucket for now with RODI. My question is should i be worried about my display tank having any problems with the small amount of time it was in there. Its a small tank a 36 gallon with a 10 gallon sump. Kinda got my in the awe crap mode lol. thanks for the insight guys.

Was it live or dry? Most likely you will have no problems since you removed it but to be sure test your parameters.

It was dry rock. I should of taken it out when i seen it start to cloud the main tank due to the dust....oh well thats how we learn lol. I guess its their base rock rubble they call it. I'll cure it then put it in like i should of to begin with. Just got to excited when i saw it lol. I was just freaking out when after i thought about it.

Shouldn't be any issues. The rubble rock is just broken pieces of their reef saver rock. You can just rinse it off and put it back. Since your tank is already cycled the rubble will start becoming live rock.

+1

You will have no issues. The dust isnt harmful its just from the rock itself. Dont worry about it.
