I am sure this is listed somewhere but I could not find it. I currently dose brs sodium bicarb. I am switching to sodium carb(soda ash) mainly for the ph help and I wont have to dose as much. I currently dose 36ml of sodium bicarb but I cant find a conversion to how much of soda ash I would dose to keep the level the same.

Looks to me like it would be about 18 ml, but please, please, please do the calculations yourself.

Half of what you're dosing now....18 mls. However, still test over a week of so to dial in.

The bicarb solution is made up at half the "strength" because it is not as soluble as the carb version. And if you're using the BRS directions, the carb version uses twice as much.

According to the BRS calculator, you should dose half as much of their liquid sodium carbonate as you are currently dosing liquid sodium bicarbonate (assuming you mix it according to their directions), so you'd need 18ml.

Just go to https://www.bulkreefsupply.com/reef-calculator/ and see how much they recommend for dosing sodium bicarb into e.g. 100 gallons to raise the alk from 7 to 8, then do the same for sodium carbonate, and you'll see the numbers are always half.

thanks everyone. yea I thought I had heard about half but I also wanted to get some more confirmation on that before I started it. I think ill start with 15ml and adjust from there just to be safe.
