Recently swapped out soda lime with a new batch from BRS it’s been 5 days and did not see any pH bump or color change.
Ive used the same brand before and would get a 0.2-0.3 pH bump until the media was used up.(noted by color change and pH drifting down.

Wondering if I got a bad batch, anyone else run into this?
The mylar bag appeared to be vacuum sealed tight.

No I haven’t , have you contacted BRS for a answer ??
Not yet, i doubt i would get anywhere.

Its been about 5 days and zero color change from a brand new bag. And not the typical pH bump I normally get from it.

just was wondering if anyone else had run into it.

that is what I use from them. . Been since May with their reactor, and no color change but my ph is between 8 and 8.1 Before, it was always under 8. I figure as long as I'm getting above 8, the stuff is still good

Interesting the first bag i ordered had clearly a color change, I ordered the same type and it says color change media on the bag.

I used some BRS for my CO2 scrubber about 8 months ago and it did absolutely nothing. Previously I had been using the Icecap media that BRS sells. I called and talked to their customer service and they told me they had been having a lot of the same reports and were running some tests on the media and talking to the vendor. The credited my account for the media.

I will keep purchasing the icecap bags as they work out to about the same price unless you're using a super large scrubber.

To add to this, I see a good increase with the icecap brand and it also turns color so you know when to change it.

I do all of my business with BES, but their CO2 media is not very good.

Thanks for the info, this is what I was looking for.

I got a bag 3 months ago from BRS worked great but ran out newest bag has not done anything and I see no color change.
Its been a week. I’m gonna change it out today and see what happens usually I see pH bump within 24 hours.

Ive seen some suggestions of a media on amazon that some here use. May just order that.

Thanks again.

I tried theirs once, sent it back. I order this

I also had a similar problem. I bought about 5x 1.2 lbs BRS scrubber media bags and some bags seemed to have no effect on my PH. Whenever I noticed that, I would change media (expensive!) and it would fix the problem almost immediately. I have since moved on to jorvet co2 scrubber media which has been great.
