I was really hoping that wc was enough to keep my tank at good levels. I had a reefer friend check my water day after wc (coral pro mixed to 1.025)

What came up was
1.027
Ph 8.3
Calc 420
Dkh 7
He couldn't find his mag test but guesstimated based off of above to be about 1325.

I will be purchasing Red Sea reef foundation test kit in a couple weeks so I can start dosing the tank. Also adding a sump/fuge in a few weeks.

I have calc mag and soda ash, is it easy to use? Is there a better option?

I received the supplements and two auto Dosers in a bulk lot of tank stuff I purchased.

Edit: I normally do 20% wc every two weeks, last two weeks I have done 25% a week. I jumped it up because 6 zoa frags and a small colony have pretty much all melted.

People tend to dread dosing at first but once you realize it can save you on water changes you'll see it's the best way to go. If you don't have any hard corals, clams or a lot of coralline algae you may not need to dose. If you have Zoas that are melting you may have a whole other issue. The BRS dosing pumps on a controller or timer is a great way to dose your tank.

It started after a heavy bombardment of aiptasia-x..

But I don't think that's the issue. I literally dropped some on accident directly on a zoa frag, and that one plus one other is completely fine.

Xenia, GSP, mushrooms, candy canes are all fine.
